County Ordinances

Welcome to Mistwood County — a land of untamed wilderness, hard choices, and stories yet to be written. Set in 1904 within an alternate-history frontier America, Mistwood County is a living world shaped by the actions of its people. These rules exist to ensure fair play, immersive roleplay, and a respectful community where every character can leave their mark. By stepping into Mistwood County, you agree to uphold these standards and help bring this rugged, lawless era to life. Choose your path wisely — the frontier is watching.

CHARACTER CREATION & WORLD GUIDELINES

  • All players and characters must be 18 years of age or older

  • The server is set in the year 1904, all characters must have a birth year of 1885 or earlier

Identity AND Naming

Names MUST be era-appropriate

This means you may not use:

  • Celebrities

  • Historical figures

  • Meme or pop culture references

  • RDR universe characters

  • Self-inserts (real names, usernames or close variants)

Character Separation

Characters must be fully independent of each other

This means you may not:

  • Play relatives of your other characters

  • Reference alternate characters as cousins, siblings, etc

  • Even casual mentions are considered metagaming

Setting and Inclusivity

  • All RP must reflect 1904 language, dress, and knowledge

  • Modern references are prohibited

  • Discrimination of any kind does not exist in this universe

  • All identities have equal opportunity

PROHIBITED ROLEPLAY
Erotic Roleplay

Allowed only if:

  • Fully consensual

  • Proactively agreed upon

  • Conducted privately

Consent may be withdrawn at any time
All ERP is visible to staff via logging.

Bannable Roleplay

  • Suicide or self-harm RP

  • Pregnancy or child RP

​

Both of these types of roleplay violate CFX.re's Terms of Service.

Torture  Roleplay

  • Allowed only with explicit consent mechanics using /me

  • Consent is REQUIRED BEFORE beginning torture roleplay

  • Consent requirement: Torture roleplay must begin with a /me action from the initiating player that asks for consent to engage in "Torture RP"

  • Consent Response: Responding player(s) can respond with /me saying:

  • Yes | Full consent is given

  • No | Initiating player must pivot to a different type of RP imminently

  • Yes, but ___ | Conditional consent granted; boundaries must be clearly stated and fully respected (e.g., “No body part removal”).

  • Gameplay realism applies. Trauma must be roleplayed if incurred

Prohibited Law Enforcement Corruption

  • Sharing MDT data

  • Aiding criminals

  • Evidence tampering

  • Favouritism

Prohibited Medical Corruption

  • Pocketing doctoring

  • Sharing government data

  • Unjustifiable crimes

If you suspect someone of being corrupt, make a support ticket in Discord

EXPLOITING and MODIFICATIONS
Prohibited exploits and modifications

  • Glitches, exploits, bugs used for advantage

  • Injecting scripts or hacking (permanent ban)

  • Crosshair overlays or aiming software

  • Macros used for money or automation

  • Manipulating UI or mechanics

Exploit Reporting

  • Bugs must be reported immediately

  • Continued use, even if “everyone is doing it” is punishable

HOUSING, CAMPS AND BUSINESSES
Camps

  • No blocking landmarks, towns, services, or events

  • No glitching items

  • Camps must be accessible and realistic

  • Camp walls must not exceed hip height

Housing

  • Max 1 property per player

  • First come, first served

Businesses

  • Must be purchased or auctioned

  • Criminal fronts may be seized by law as part of investigations

  • One business per criminal organisation, this means only 1 person in your gang can own a business

  • Stock prices must be balanced with the server’s economy in mind

  • Businesses operating solely to “get rich quick,” prioritizing profit over roleplay, will have their ownership revoked

  • If a business cannot function properly without its owner, and the owner has been inactive for two weeks, ownership will be revoked

  • If a business can operate normally without its owner, and the owner has been inactive for one month, ownership will be forfeited

  • In this case, the business will either be transferred to an active employee or placed up for auction

ROLEPLAY RULES
FAIL ROLEPLAY

​Includes, but is not limited to:

​

  • Ignoring injuries

  • Unrealistic logic

  • Powergaming

  • NPC slaughter

  • COD-style behaviour

  • Unsupported supernatural actions

MEDICAL ROLEPLAY

  • All injuries must be fully roleplayed

  • Minimum 10 minutes recovery time for major injuries

  • Limping, pain, slowed movement expected

  • No speaking while downed (except groans)

  • /me must be used to describe injuries

  • Remaining downed for excessive length of time for advantage is prohibited

  • Logging out to avoid medical RP is combat logging

NO-FEAR ROLEPLAY (NVL)

  • You must fear death and injury

  • Reckless behaviour is prohibited

  • Outnumbered characters should comply

  • Civilians are not law enforcement

HOSTILE ROLEPLAY

Timing and Cooldowns
 

  • No hostile RP within 30 minutes of restart

  • 1-hour cooldown after hostile interactions

  • Initiating group must leave the area

Group Limits

​

  • Criminal cap: 6

  • Hostile pets count toward caps
     

Scene limits apply to robberies and raids

ROBBERIES

  • Story-driven, not loot-driven

  • You cannot rob AND kill a player

  • Chain robbing is prohibited

  • Only ONE inventory source per victim

  • This means you cannot rob their wagon, horse and personal inventory

  • Hostages must be valid

  • Player being robbed must be left a way to defend themselves

  • Must be left with at-least 1 firearm - This means if they only have 1 firearm you CANNOT take it

LASSOS & TACKLING

  • Declares hostile RP

  • Cannot be used against drawn weapons

  • Untying must be realistic and safe

  • You cannot "break free" if hostiles are watching you etc

PERMANENT CHARACTER DEATH (PK)

  • PK is final and irreversible

  • Must be clearly indicated via RP

  • Doctors may attempt revival

Forced PKs apply in:

  • Executions after trial

  • Witchcraft FOIC mechanics

​

Both of which require admin approval/notification BEFORE happening.

GENERAL RULES BRIEF SUMMARY
Economy, Donations and Assets

  • Real Money Trading (RMT) is strictly prohibited

  • Selling, buying, or trading in-game assets for real-life money or out-of-game items is forbidden

This violates CFX.re’s Platform License Agreement

Punishment: Permanent Ban

  • Asset transferring between your own characters is prohibited

  • Mass dumping assets to friends or gangs without RP cause is prohibited, even if you intend to PK or die

  • All donations are final and non-refundable

  • Chargebacks or attempts to bypass this policy result in a permanent ban

  • Banned players are never eligible for refunds

  • Donations do not guarantee scripts, features, or content additions

  • All implementation decisions are made by server ownership

Violent Interactions

​In a single interaction, you may:
 

  • Down a player

  • Rob a player

You are NOT permitted to do both

Staff Authority and Accountability

  • All rule interpretation and enforcement is at staff discretion

  • Escalations may be made to Server Management or through formal appeals

  • Staff may remove players who promote toxic, disruptive, or harmful behaviour

  • You are responsible for all actions taken on your account

  • Intoxication, impairment, or letting someone else play does not exempt punishment

  • Punishment evasion (alt accounts, ban dodging) is prohibited and escalates penalties

  • Mistwood County is not subject to individual interpretations of “fairness”

Technical Expectations

  • Working clear microphone

  • Recording software (Medal, SteelSeries GG, OBS, etc.) is strongly recommended

         
Required for:
 

  • Bug reports

  • Compensation requests

  • Rule violation reports

Discord accounts under 3 months old will be rejected if submitting applications

VOICE IDENTIFICATION and COMMUNICATION
Discord Naming

You must format your Discord server name as:

  • Character First & Last Name | Initials (if have multiple names) [RedM Name]

Example 1: Clay Maddix [Arkose]
Example 2: C.M | K.S [Arkose]

Voice Requirements

  • A clear, functional microphone is required

  • Push-to-talk is mandatory

Medical Exceptions

  • Players unable to use voice for medical reasons may apply to use /snl

  • Approval must be granted via the Applications channel in Discord

  • /snl characters are not exempt from RP standards

Voice Identification

  • Voice or accent identification is prohibited

  • This includes casual recognition (“That sounds like your old character/cousin etc”)

Approved /snl characters engaging in hostilities must:

  • Use emotes and /snl to show intent

  • Have another player verbally initiate hostility where necessary
